What Precautions You Should Take Before Starting Tadalafil

Anyone who has is being prescribed tadalafil should discuss any allergies with their doctor or if they already know they have reactions to it, their doctor should be told beforehand. Your health care professional or pharmacist should have a suitable medical history of their patient. Be sure to tell them about the penis state for things such as angulations, and any scarring or fibrosis growth of fibrous plaque.
If there is any previous trouble with prolonged erections, sickle cell anemia, blood disorders i.e. leukemia, eye problems affecting the retina, kidney ailments, liver function trouble, bleeding disorders, unhealed stomach ulcers and heart problems, coronary conditions arrhythmia in recent past, angina, recent stroke, or blood pressure trouble either too high or too low, then this drug should be avoided.
Tadalafil can make a patient dizzy and instigate vision trouble. Caution must also be taken when taking part in actions which count on attentive behavior like operating a motor vehicle or machines. Alcohol should also be consumed in moderation. Take precautions when rising from a seated position because of vertigo issues. Keep tadalafil away from children, and there is no provision for women taking it at this time.
Patients taking tadalafil should be cautious of drug interactions and discuss these potential problems regularly with their physician and or pharmacist. Your health care professional may already be aware of these harmful contraindications depending on any history you have attained with them over the years. You would be well advised not to change or cease your dosage of this or any prescribed drug without consulting them first.
Tadalafil should not be taken with any of the subsequent drugs listed since grave and potentially fatal interactions could happen: no nitrates such as nitroglycerin, or isosorbide, nitroprusside or no nitric oxide donor medications, including the party drug referred to as poppers which quite likely contain amyl or butyl nitrate. Discuss these drugs with your physician or pharmacist – as difficult as it may be – before ingesting tadalafil.
Certain natural health supplements and health foods may not coexist well with this medication so let your doctor know if you are consuming any herbal products or OTC medications specifically alpha blockers such as doxazosin, prazosin, or terazosin, drugs which have an effect on particular liver enzymes [CYP 3A4 substrates, any inhibitors or inducers such as cimetidine, rifamycins, St. John’s Wort, even some anti seizure medications], any other medications or supplements related to erectile dysfunction such as high blood pressure meds or natural curatives which have been widely promoted.
Those patients who are consuming particular medications like potent inhibitors of CYP3A4 like itraconazole, ketoconazole, ritonavir, nelfinavir, erythromycin, , fosamprenavir, amprenavir, Tadalafil dosage restrictions must be adhered to in order to avoid high risk vertigo. If consuming tadalafil on an as required protocol, then avoid taking more than 10 mgs. in any 72 hour time frame. If you are on a once a day program, take no more than a 2.5 mg dosage daily. If you feel this should change then discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist.
It is a good idea to keep a handy list of all your prescribed medications, any OTC drugs you consume and all herbal or health supplements that you ingest. Keeping your doctor or pharmacist informed of these potential interactions can save your life or at the very least provide you with peace of mind. There are more prospective drug interactions and contraindications not listed here but the idea is to be aware of the dangers and discuss these with your health care providers.
In the event of an overdose of tadalafil, contact local poison control and/or get to an emergency room immediately. Should a patient miss a dose of tadalafil it is advisable to take a dose as soon as you remember to. If you are close to the schedule subsequent dose then pass on taking the missed dose and simply continue with your dosage regimen as normal. Never double up your dosage to “catch back up”. It goes without saying that you should never share your drug with anyone. You have no idea how the recipient is medicating them self or which medical conditions they could have. This kind of reckless behavior can have fatal consequences.
Never dispose of old or expired medications down the drain or toilet unless you are instructed to do so by a professional. Medications should be properly done away with when necessary. Most pharmacies will dispose of old medications for you or contact a local waste management company for instructions on safely throwing away old drug products. Be sure to store tadalafil at room temperature and never store it in the bathroom where it may be in reach of children or prying and longing eyes.
